When I was 16 or 17 I went on a Rotary Exchange to Gloucester for a week. I went with a guy named Todd, who I can’t remember much else about. I have never had anything to do with Rotary so don’t know how it happened, but I did like the idea of being a farmer. So the idea of being on a farm for a week sounded good. Well, in short, the bubble burst when I had to be a farmer coz I realised I sucked at it, but I still loved the place.

Anyway, I’d been meaning to go and say hello since we started coming up here. I wondered if I’d remember the place, the people, and if they’d remember me. I finally got round to it yesterday.

You can’t actually see the house from here, but John and Wendy would be embarrassed if I showed you anyway coz it’s mid renovation. But this is their neighbourhood. It’s about 15 mins from my place. I was actually a bit nervous to go there, wondering if they had any memories, of if they did whether they remembered how rubbish a farmer I was. But it was amazing, John loved seeing us and he loved Xavie. As we left he said to Xave “do you like sausages?”….Xave salivated. He opened a chest freezer and I’m pretty sure what used to be a cow was there, in the form of sausages and mince and roast meat. We left with a few kilos of real sausages, looking forward to sharing them with my father in law when he comes up tomorrow.

Only 3 days til we leave this place for a while. I will miss Gloucester. I am also looking forward to God’s plans for us this year in Sydney.
